Tamara Mkheidze is a PhD student in the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures with a concentration in Egyptology.
She holds a BA in History of Art and Archaeology and an MA in Archaeology with a focus on Ancient Egyptian Art and Language from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her MA thesis explored the material culture and the uniqueness of Egyptian mural painting in the era of Akhenaten (ca. 1350 BC). In her doctoral studies, she aims to broaden the scope of her research to earlier periods of Ancient Egyptian history. She is particularly interested in art, religion, and archaeology of pharaonic Egypt.
