Marc Marín Webb is a PhD Candidate in Mesopotamian history and archaeology. Formally trained as an architect in Barcelona and Berlin, he has participated in several archaeological and heritage preservation projects in the MENA region. His research focuses on post-conflict heritage preservation in Iraq, early Mesopotamian architecture and urbanism, the conservation and interpretation of archaeological sites, and conservation science. He is also interested in the modern reception of ancient Near Eastern art, and has assisted in the curation, research, and design of several museum exhibitions. As part of his doctoral dissertation, he is collaborating as architectural consultant to the Penn-based Iraq Heritage Stabilization Program, assisting the conservation of the Yezidi Sanctuary of Sheikh Adi (Lalish, Iraq). In 2021 he was named Louis J. Kolb Society Junior Fellow.
