Ruowen Li is an MA student in the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures.
She holds a BA in Modern Hebrew Language from Peking University, with a special interest in Hebrew literature and Hebrew poetry. In her BA thesis, she explored the loss of meaning in the Chinese translation of Hebrew Texts (using Amichai's poetry as a case study), as well as how it might be avoided. In her master's program, she hopes to focus her study on the poetry of Yehuda Amichai and its translation. Her other interests include the history of modern Hebrew literature, Hebrew poetry and literary translation.
